Dear 3rd graders of SFC,
You are going to have a blast in 4th grade. The first trip we go to is a corn maze. The people who make it make it into a animal every year. We got a moutain lion.
The next field trip you go to is the nursing home where you sing Christmas songs their. It's awsome.
The next field trip is to Garretson and the Pallisades. You get to go on a hike and see where Jesse James jumped over a gulch to run away from the posse (or Sherrif). He made the jump succesfully and excaped. He was running away from the police and he had split up with his brother Frank and he got the gulch side. Our teacher is Miss TeSlaa but you won't get her next year because she is moving to Chicago with her husband Todd.
You will either get Mrs. Gibbons and Mrs. Engbers or you will get Mrs. Neimeier.
My favorite memory of the year is when Mr. Shepperd trashed our room and we got him back in a few days. We trashed his room and took his keys. Boy did he get angry. In 4th grade you have a lot of hard things but if you listen you'll get through it.

4th grade is ausome. My favorite trip was to the pallasades. We wen't to the pettigreww muesam, the corn maze,and the pallasades. In the pallasades you get to go on a boat ride, play on the park, go hiking, and eating lunch by these worm like creatures. In the pettigrew muesem you get to see guns, rifles, arowheads, crystal like rocks, cannonballs,and alot more. You also get tto explore his house. In the corn maze you get to go in the corn maze looking for 8or9 different boxes that give you the answere to the quistins on the paper. There is one mystery one that if you find it you get a free something were you started.My teacher was Miss Tesslaa. She is an ausome teacher!!!!!! We learned alot about owls and we got to dicect owl pellets. (the puke)
We learned alot about animals in the beggining of the year. We also learn all about the states and capitals all 50!!!(you have to take a test on all 50!!!) We also learned about South Dakota. It was an ausome year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4rth grade is awsome we go on alot of field trips like to were Jessie James jumped the 15 foot wide canyon and when we went to the house of the persone that made Soix Falls! 4rth grade is not that hard at all.
Next year you might be in Miss Gibbens classroom. I liked all the book orders and the A.R. goals I made Every one of my A.R. goals so I got to go to all the parties! And soon Im going to get my end of the year prize which only people who get all there goals get! We also learn about the fruits of the spirit and about easter sunday and we learn about the human body and every detail.We also learn about circits,bengiman franklan, and we learn about how to save the earth!We also learn about the lion the witch and the wardrobe and we whatch the movie!We also learn about lewis and clark and about some of our presidents and about harriot tubman and about owls we also get to disect owl pellets! In forth grade you get to do a lot of super fun things. My teacher's name is Miss.TeSlaa But sadly you can't have her as a teacher because she is getting married and moving to Chicago. So next year you get to disecting owl pelets and you get to make a lot of cool things in art like fish, heads, flowers, and more. You also get to go to Garretson, South Dakota and there you get to go see where Jessie James jummped Devil's Gulch. You also get to Eat at Dairy Queen after that! You also get to ride in a boat.My favorite part was the Gerretson Feild trip. So that is a little story about next year. I hope you like next year in forth grade Becase I liked it.

In fourth grade you get to go on a lots of feald trips you get to go to the corn make, Mr. Pettegrews house and a pontoon ride whith Bruse.
My teacher is Miss TeSlaa she is the beast teacher ever but she isn't going to teach next year because she is geting maried and moving to Chcogo.
Math is easy but it is very long. You get to disect a owl pellet. The owl pellit is kind of gross with all of the hair and bonse you have to be carful or you wll break the bones becouse they are super frdgel. The hardest thing to atach to is all the different kinds of verbs and adverbs and pronouns.
My favorite thing this year is the corn maze becouse our groupe called Miss TeSlaas phone and asked were to find the tresher box.

I want you to know that fourth grade is so much much fun and a little bit harder than you think but you will still have fun in fourrth grade. In fourth grade you get to go on a lot of field trips you get to go to the Pettigrew museum and you also get to go to Garetson to the palisades and climb on rock and go on a pontoon ride and go the hike And then go to dairy qween.There is a lot of ather things you do in fourth grade.Like makin paper mashea animals and then do a report on them.There was a nother field tripp were you go to the out door campas and go on another hike.That is really all the field tripps i can remember but of course at the end of the year you will go to the skating paty and have field day.There is a lot of of them and i dont remember all of them. My apsulute favorate part of the year was going to the palisades and going on the pontoon ride and stuff I really thought it was fun becouse it took up the whole day and becouse there was so much to do that time.And next year one of the teachers will not be here next year beacouse she's moving to Chicago, But the other teacher is really nice to but you will have a lot of fun next year in FOURTH GRADE. This was the most fun year I have ever had! There is one one more field trpp i forgot to put down you will also get to go to a maze and try to get through it it toog about an hour and a half to get through the maze that was fun!! In Fourth Grade you get to do a lot of fun things. You get to disect owl pellets, learn all about South Dakota history, and you get to learn long division! It's realy fun. I had Miss Te Slaa. She is the best teacher in the WORLD!! She is so fun and cool. She is moving to Chicago so you guys won't have her. You will still have a good time though.
You also get to learn how to type faster and you get to learn about instraments in music class. The sad part is you lose one recess, but you can live without it. You go on a lot of fun field trips too. You go to the palasades, the out door campus, and Carasel Skate like always.
My favorite part of the year was when we trashed Mr. Shepard's (Miss Te Slaa's arch enemy's) room and took his keys! We messed up all his papers, desks, and cupboards and then ran and sat in our room like nothing happened!!!
It was the best school year of my life!!!

It is really fun to be in fourth grade.Some highlights of fourth grade is that you can have art in the art room it's awsome.You only get two rescess so make them count.My teacher was Miss Teslaa she was awsome.I learn spanish,art,PE,math ,social studies,and spelling,science,and grammer,and computer lab.In fourth grade it is fun because you don't hae to do all the subjects in one day the awsome part is that you do math and grammer in the morning.The field trips that you go to are the zoo,the Pettigrew house and meuseum,the Corn Maze,and the Devil's Gultch in Garretson and the Washigton Pavilion.My favorite memory is going to the Devil's Gultch it's awsome GO 4TH GRADE

Hello. My name is LaShae. My teacher is Miss Teslaa. She is really nice, but she's moving to Chicago. We learned about owls, divisibility, zero spacers, and a lot about animals. Our first field trip was to the corn maze. It was really fun! Then we went to the Outdoor Campus. That was also very fun!Then in May you get to go to Garretson. That was the most field trip of all! At the corn maze you go through a corn maze. At the outdoor campus you learn a lot of cool stuff like hoe to work a compass like the one Lewis and Clark used. At garetson you go on a pontoon ride, you hike, eat at the palasades, and after go to Dairy Queen. My favorite memory was when we mad our paper mache animals. Hi im mattea im going to tell you about fourth grade. Fourth grade is about the funnest grade in the elementry. It is so fun doing paper mashey animals. I loved all of our field trips im sure you will like it too. My teacher is Miss Te Slaa,she is the best teacher ever , she is so funnie and pritty and she will always help you . In 4th grade you get to learn a lot of interesting things like owl pellets. owl pellets are pellets that the owl eats but can not digest. This is called regugetate. We learned a lot about owls and how far they can turn their heads. they can turn their heads 3 4ths of a whole circle because they can't move their eyes back and fourth of up and down like we can. Also in 4th grade you do a paper on coragess christians. this is really fun because you get to dress up as your couragess christain when you are finished.
I had a great teacher and her name was Miss Te Slaa. She was really funny. I am sorry for you because she won't be here next year. I just had a blast with her. 4th grade is so fun because you get to read about electic circits in sience.
The field trips were probobly the best part about 4th grade because you go to the corn maze, the pittigrew museum, the simphany, and the devil's gulch where Jesse James jump a 20 feet across and 50 feet deep. 4th grade is one of the best grades.(Especially with Miss TeSlaa.)There's fun field trips and fun things to learn, but there's also hard things you'll have to learn. Some of the fun things are the field trip to Garretson, Pettigrew Museum, and the corn maze, the specials,(you get to start handbells.)the AR parties,and there's much more you'll have to find out. Some highlights of 4th grade is we have a lot of cool feild trips and we only have two recesess. The subjects we have in 4th grade are math, grammar, reading, social studies, and science. The specials we have in 4th grade are P.E., art, music, spanish, library, and computer lab. In 4th grade the feild trips we have are we go to the zoo, the Corn Maze, Pettigrew's home and museum, the Devils Gultch, we go to the Washington Pavilion, and the nursing home we also disect owl pellets (thats when we have our owl unit). Our teacher was Miss Teslaa and on May 22, 2009 she will be Mrs. Van Baren (yipee, ya, wohoo, huray) and Miss Teslaa is really, really funny. In 4th grade I learned about Owls and all their adaptions, Richard Pettigrew founded Sioux Falls, a lot of different animals, a lot of new words, South Dakota unit, and so on and so on and so on (if I were to name all the things I learned I'd be here all day). Also in 4th grade at the end of the year we get to pick our instuments for 5th grade (I got the saxaphone). In 4th grade we also make new friends, sometimes have frogs and toads in the room and they goble up crickets and grasshoppers (thats fun to watch). In 4th grade we also have a battle on Earth Day On who picked up more garbage (but Mr. Sheppard won't be there next year (I'm sad because he is funny). My favorite memeory in 4th grade is when we creamed Mr. sheppard on Earth Day!!!

The year is about over and I would like to tell you about 4th grade!When your in 4th grade you will have a blast.This year Miss TeSlaa was my teacher and she was a great teacher,I had a blast with her!When you guys are in 4th grade you will go on many exciting trips and do many fun things if you are good to the teacher you will do many fun activities in the year of 4th grade!I learned many new things in 4th grade that would help me in my future grades.In 4th grade you will do a star student and an ar goal to meet every month.If you make it a month you will get to go to the ar party they are really fun!On the first day of school you will introduced in front of the class it is really fun getting to know the kids in your class!There is chance tickets in 4th grade and if you are good and get zero wrong on something you could get a chance ticket but it depends.If you get pulled for chance you will get a treat or lunch in the room.The first field trip of the year was to the the corn maze,pettigrew house and museum,devils gulch,music place,and many others.My favorite memory of 4th grade is when we had hot chocalate dayand Todd coming.

You are going to be surprized at how cool 4th grade will be. You have awsome field trips, awsome teachers(Miss TeSlaa which will soon be Mrs. Van Bearen), and a lot of FUN in store!!!! I had fun and I know you will too. Miss TeSlaa was the best teacher in the school this year, but I'm sad to say that you won't have her. She is having her wedding in about two weeks and I'm invited. The only thing that I am not going to see her anymore and niether are you. She is moving to Chicago. But I'm sure you'll have as much fun without her. When your in 4th grade you learn a lot of new stuff. You'll learn long division, how to play recorder, and at the end of the year you get to see what kind of instument you will play when you're in 5th grade. The fun part is computer lab. You get to do a lot of searching.
Next year you have very fun field trips. You will go to the zoo, the Pettigrew Museum, the Washington Pavillion, and the Devils Gultch. My favorite memory was going to Devils Gultch. You also get to eat lunch at the Palicades! I hope you have a good time,

when you get to the awsome 4th grade you will experience the meaning of fun and you will also find out what freedom means.Now ,first off I'm going to tell you about the best teacher in the world Miss TeSlaa ,she is like your tower giude in fourth grade exept the fact that she is an extreme tour giude. If you get stuck in some mud where you don't know a problem ask her and she will help you get out or if there is something in your way like akid distracting you she'll move him out of the way by telling him to be quiet.Next we have the FIELD TRIPS the most exiting part about our tour Your firt field trip will beTHE CORN MAZE. Now, on the trail you will have to find ten posts and you will flip the flap and wright down the answer on yor question card and once you have completed all ten answers you may come out and you can bye atreat of your choice.You will have other exiting field trips but I want to tell yuo the last tripwhichis the most exiting trip THE GERRETSON FIELD TRIP When you get there you wait on the play ground and wait for the always funny BRUCE who will lead you through the Creepy river and he will tell you about jessie james and then you will going which leads to LUNCH packed with vitiemin c, yum!Ah, good times. But my favorite part was on earth day when MISS TESLAA and mr. sheperd's classes wanted to have atrash picking contest but of course they where no match for us theythought they won so they gave us a second place trophey so we gave them a trphey filled with trash and that end our tour of 4th grade,oh and by the 4TH GRADE ROCKS!

Hi future 4th graders
I'm sure you will have lots of fun in fourth grade we do lots of fun things. My favorite thing was disecting owl pellets or as Miss Te Slaa says digesting owl pellets I found a rodent in mine it is sooo cool you will have lots of fun.
We went to the corn maze to we found the mystery box and at the end we got candy if we found it.
We just recently went to devil's gultch we went on a hike there we saw the devil's kitchen that is were the indians cooked their food because no wind could get in. We went on a pondtoon ride to there was a guy that told us were Jesse James hid out (Jesse James robbed a bank and the cops were on his tail so he had no choice to junp over the gultch) That field trip was awesommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmme After that we went to dairy queen i got a waffel cone it was good.
On our South Dakota unit we went to the Pettigrew house Richard Pettigrew went all over the world and collected artifacts we saw cannon balls and indian arrow heads it was cool.
We also went to the zoo we saw a tone of animals wy favorite was the black bear because I did one for my animal report when we went to see the tiger it came over and grouled at us.
Miss Te Slaa my teacher will get married May 29, 2009 She is the best teacher ever. 4th grade is awesome but you are really glad when it is oooooooooooooooooover!!!!!

I'm going to talk about my year in 4th grade. 4th grade is amazing you learn a lot of things and you learn about South Dakota and what historicle sits and people. Also in 4th grade you get to do fun science projects and you get to learn about Abraham Lincoln and George Washinton and what they did for are country and what the did to change people and how they were treded.
Some highlights of 4th grade that we did was disecting owl pellets and learning about South Dakota and all the rejuns of the United States and what there capitle is and what there abbriviation and where they are located on the map and you also have to nmow the state of all that. Also you have the best time you make time capsels and the teacher bare them and at the end of the year you will get them back and see if your hand sise changed and how tall you grown sence the beging of the school year. Miss Te Slaa is our teacher and she is the best teacher you could ever have in the whole entier world. What we learnd is how to add and subtract mixed feactions and if they are inproper how to make them proper and how to divid the deinomenator and the numarator and find the answer like 36 9 then you would divid the 9 into the 36 and the answer would be 4 wholes because 9 gose into 36 evenly 4 times. Another thing that we learnd was how to get eguivelent fractions.
One of our fild trips we did this year was the Corn Maze, the Pettigrew Museuim, and the Palasaids and when we were coming back from the Palasaids we stoped and DQ Grill and Chill and had stuff from Darie Queen. My favorite memory of this year was when we were at the Palasaids when we were hicking and saw where Jessy James jumped the gulch and he made it and we also got to walk over the gulch.

Hi! I'm Molly. My teacher was Miss TeSlaa and she was AWSOME! If she wasn't moving to Chigago some of you would've had her. But just trust me, you will have a blast! This year we got to make paper mache animals and we get to write reports on them. You probably saw some of them so you know what you are going to do. After we learn about animals we go to the zoo. It is really fun getting a tour and learning more about animals.
We get to go to a corn maze and they give us a map and we have to find certain things. The shape of the corn maze was a cougar. Well I think it was. I can't quite remember. For you guys the maze will be different, because they change it every year.
We have Thursday Writing. Thursday writing is a writing assingment we get almost every Thursday, and it is due on Monday.
We have Corageous Christians where we choose a Christian that stood up for what they believed in no matter what the consequences were. On the day when you read your report to the class you get to dress up like your person while you are reading it. It was pretty cool seeing the other kids dressed like other people. My Christian was Florence Nightingale.
We learned about Lewis and Clark and we went to the outdoor campus and learned how to use a compass. We learned more about Lewis and Clark and their expedition.
We get to go to the Pettegrew home. That place is where Pettegrew (the founder of Sioux Falls) lived. They added more to his house and made a museum of things he found all over the world. We split up into 2 groups and one of the groups watches a video and looks at the museum, while the other group gets a tour of his actual house that he lived in.
Around Christmas time we go to Bethany Meadows and we sing Christmas songs and get to talk to the people. It is a lot of fun.
We went to Garretson for an all day feild trip. We went on a pontoon ride,(the tour guide, Bruce is really funny) we eat lunch there, we go on a hike, and best of all we went to...DAIRY QUEEN!!!! We saw Devil's Gulch, the gulch that Jesse James jumped over on his horse and other cool stuff.
My FAVORITE day of the year was on Earth Day when Mr. Sheperd's class and our class had a competition on who could pick up the most garbage. They say that THEY won. So after we were done his class came in with what they called a 'trophy' that said 2nd Place Nice try =( So after they did that, Miss TeSlaa got a crocs shoebox and she wrote on it,"You guys are CROCS! CHEATERS!" Then she filled it with garbage and told Tannen to go into their classroom read what it said, dump the garbage on the floor and RUN! It was really funny. 4th grade will be awsome for you guys. Hope you have a good year!!
