Palm Sunday

We are taking a close look at each day of Jesus' life on his last week on earth.
Today we looked at Palm Sunday- and his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Give me a summary of this day.
Give me some details from the Gospels accounts of this day, what prophecy did it fulfill, and what did this entry tell you about Jesus? Why do you think Jesus had to enter in that way?
What were the people shouting as he entered?
What was the first thing Jesus did when he got into Jerusalem?

I am going to tell you about Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday is when Jesus came riding on a donkey and people waved their palm branches and cries out Hosanna Hosanna. Now I am going to tell the story with details. On Palm Sunday Jesus told his disciples to go get a donkey that has never been ridden before, and he also told his Prophets to go and tell everybody the news that he was going to come riding on a donkey. When the Prophets told everybody the news and the disciple got the donkey that had never been ridden before all of the people got their palm branches and waved them in the air crying out Hosanna Hosanna to the King. On Palm Sunday some of the People said who is he? Some of the people said that because they do not know God, or they did not recognize him. When Jesus went past on the donkey that has never been ridden the people shouted out Hosanna Hosanna is the the King. The fist thing that Jesus did when he got into Jerusalem was he came in riding on a donkey that has never been used when the people were crying Hosanna Hosanna is the King. That is the story of Palm Sunday.

When Jesus came into the city he did not come in it fancy. He just told one of his followers to find a donkey that was never ridden and bring it to me and if anyone asks you why you are taking the donkey you say the Lord needs it. So Jesus rode the donkey into the city and people where waving palm branches and saying hosanna, hosanna in the heist. When Jesus first came into the town he went to the temple. People where buying and selling things. Jesus put that to a end and told them that what they did was wrong.

First Jesus had to have a donkey so he told a prophet to go get a donkey that has never been ride on. So the prophet got a donkey that has never been ride on before. And Jesus also said if the owner says why are you taking my donkey say Jesus needs it. So the owner asks why are you taking my donkey and the prophet says Jesus needs it. Jesus didn’t want to ride into Jerusalem riding in a chariot so that is why he wanted to ride a donkey that has never been ridden before. And when Jesus ride into Jerusalem people were waving palms and shouting Hosanna! oh Hosanna! Immediately Jesus went to the temple and he saw everybody buying and selling and tipped over all the tables and said you guys are robbers.

I am glad that we can learn about Jesus. We’ve done a little talking Palm Sunday and Passion Week. Well the first thing that Jesus did on Palm Sunday was tell a couple of his followers to go get him a colt who is right next to a donkey and if anyone asks why you are untying it tell them my Lord needs it. So they got the colt then they put there cloaks on it and Jesus rode into Jerusalem and people were saying Hosanna in the Highest and blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Jesus came in not loud and noisy because he didn’t want to be a showoff. It was a glorious day until Jesus went to the temple and people were selling and buying goods and Jesus said the temple is a house of worship but you people have turned it into a den of robbers.

We’ve been learning a lot about Palm Sunday and when Jesus died for our sins. So now I am going to tell you what I know about Palm Sunday already. I learned that Jesus said,’’ To go and get the colt that has not been ridden.” He also said,” If anyone asks you what you are doing say The Lord needs it. After Jesus said that they hurried off and found the colt that has not been ridden. Because it was the King that would be riding it. When they where untying the colt the owner said,” What are you doing to my colt they answered the King need it. And the owner said OK. So they put the cloaks on the colt and brag it to Jesus. When they brag it to Jesus he rode it down the rode and then people stared to throw the cloaks where the colt was about to walk saying,” Hosanna.”

I'm going to tell you about Palm Sunday. And what happened many years ago on Palm Sunday. Jesus told his disciples to go find a donkey on Mt. Olive in a small village. And if the owner asks why you're taking his donkey say the Lord needs it. So the disciples found the donkey wich had never been ridden. The owner asked why they were taking his donkey. So they told him what the Lord told them to say. They put thier cloaks on the donkey so Jesus could ride the donkey. When they went to town people crowded around and said,"Hosanna hosanna!" When he got to town Jesus went to the temple. He saw people selling and buying. Jesus was furious. He tiped over the tables and said,"This is a den of robbers!" So he went on.

During the Triumphal Entry was when Jesus entered Jerusalem. When Jesus entered the city most of the people waved palm branches, laid their cloaks on the ground to make a path for Jesus and shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Hosanna in the Highest!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord Almighty!" Before Jesus entered Jerusalem he told his Disciples, "Go and find a donkey with her colt." "Bring me the colt for he has not been ridden yet." "If the owner asked what are you doing untying my foul tell that the Lord needs it."
I think Jesus entered that way because he did not want anyone to be jealous that the was riding somebody else’s donkey. But the foul had never been ridden before. The first thing Jesus did when he got into Jerusalem was go to the Temple. He got angry when he saw what was happening near the Temple. There were people setting up stands and getting ready to sell things. Jesus turned all the tables upside down and said, "My house is a house of prayer." "You have turned it into a robbers den."
When Jesus entered Jerusalem he fufilled the prophecy, "Say to the daughter of Zion, See your king comes to you gently and riding on a donkey.

Jesus knew that this was his last day on earth. He went to the Mount of Olives & said to his disciples, “Go up and you will find a donkey and next to it will be a calf. Bring the calf to me and if the owner asks why are you taking my donkey say the Lord needs it.”
When the disciples came down they put their cloaks on the donkey for a nice place to sit for Jesus. He entered the town of Jerusalem & all the people were saying, “Hosanna to the son of David!” They said to other things but I can’t remember them.
Jesus was very humble and you can see that because He rode in on a calf that had never been ridden before. Jesus went to the temple and started yelling at them for turning it into a den of robbers this is a house of prayer!

On Palm Sunday day Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. I know what you're thinking why would Jesus our Savior come into Jerusalem on a donkey (a donkey that no one has ever ridden on before).Well you see Jesus was a very kind and humble man. He didn't want to be look like a king in a big chariot with big white and black horses. Instead he rode on a donkey. By entering that way he actually full filled a prophecy. The prophecy said that Jesus would into Jerusalem on a baby donkey. When He road into Jerusalem the people shouted Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest, and blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. They also waved palm branches and they even put their cloaks or coats on the ground where he was riding. But when he got into Jerusalem he did not like what he saw. He saw people buying, selling, and trading by the temple on a Sunday! They were supposed to be in church on a Sunday. Jesus got very angry at them for doing this. So as you can see Palm Sunday is very special. That is where my story ends.

PALM SUNDAY

I will tell you about Palm Sunday. It is about Jesus riding on a donkey through Jerusalem. If you have a Bible, this would be in Luke 19: 28-40. Jesus goes to Mt. Olive, and on his way came near two towns called Bethphage and Bethany. H sent out two of his followers and said “Go into the town you can see there. When you enter it, you will find a colt tied there. No one has ever ridden this colt. Untie it, and bring it here to me. If anyone asks why you are taking it, say ‘The Master needs it’.” (Luke 19:30-31.) So they went and got the donkey colt and brought it back to Jesus. When the got there, the master of the donkey said, “Why are you untying my colt?” (Luke 19:33) They answered, “ The Master needs it.” When they got back, they threw their cloaks over the donkey’s back and put Jesus upon it. Then Jesus rode to Jerusalem. They people in Jerusalem started calling out “Hosanna” and other things like “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” This prophecy was that Jesus told a prophet to tell someone, whom I cannot remember their name; it was something like Daughter Zail. “You Savior will come to Jerusalem riding on a donkey.” So Jesus was in Jerusalem now on the lowliest donkey, rather then a horse and chariot with a butler or something. No, it was much lowlier. I think that Jesus did that because he wanted to tell the people he doesn’t want anything that great because HE is the main picture of the whole Palm Sunday. He didn’t want people oohing and aaahing over this huge chariot. Okay so back to the story. The people were even throwing their cloaks on the ground for him. Jesus was weeping though. He said that if they knew what was really going to happen to him, what they were going to do to him, that they would regret this. They would soon crucify him. Sad. So I can see where Jesus did that. He wanted to get some more Jews on his side of the crucifixion. Then Jesus saw a bunch of Jews buying and selling over by the temple. ON A SUNDAY FOR PETE’S SAKE!!!!! So Jesus went over to them and said, “My Temple will be a house where people will pray. But you have turned into a ‘hideout for robbers!!” Jesus was very mad. They were selling inside the Temple! On a Sunday!
He stopped them, and that was Palm Sunday.

An important part of the bible is Jesus’ last week on this earth. On the Sunday before Easter Sunday Jesus rode into town on a donkey. This special day is called Palm Sunday. It all started when Jesus told his disciples to go into the village. “There you will see two donkeys tied up. Untie the young one, and bring him to me. If the owner asks why you are doing this tell him the Lord needs it.” He said. So they did so. When they got there the owner of the two donkeys asked, “What are you doing with my donkeys?” They replied, “The Lord needs it.” Although this is what happened the book of Matthew didn’t say anything about the owner of the donkeys saying anything. After that that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the colt. People waved palm branches and said, “Hosanna to the son of David! Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in Heaven and glory in the highest!” People also laid their cloaks down on the road in praise. The Pharisees did not like what was going on so the said, “Stop what you are doing!” Jesus replied, “ If the people stop the stones will cry out.” That was what happened on Palm Sunday.

In the bible Jesus is going to the city on a donkey and now your about to learn every thing about it! Jesus told his disciples “To go to the near town write when you get there you will see a donkey next to it will be a colt that has never bin ridden if somebody asks why are you taking that answer the lord needs it.”

Then god road the donkey to town all the people lade down there clocks. When he walked in to Jerusalem he said” If only you new what piece this is and the darkness that you will bring.” So he started weeping. All the people were” shouting hosanna inn the highest hosanna.” They all shouted this to praise him!

Here is how it all began.
First Jesus came to Jerusalem. He had met disciples and he told them to go to Mount of Olives, and there they will find a colt and a donkey. He said, take the colt that has not been ridden on. If the owner says why are you taking my colt? Say that Jesus needs it. When they got back they spread there cloaks over the colt and put Jesus on the colt. The people shouted “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!” That was what they said in Matthew. In Luke it says “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Have you looked in the Bible and looked at the Christmas story? It’s like the Christmas story. Remember that Easter is not about candy it’s about Jesus Christ

I’m going to tell you what Easter is all about. Today I am going to tell you about Palm Sunday! Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem when he stopped at the Mount of Olives. Then he sent to of his disciples to go to the village ahead to get a colt which has never been rode before. The reason he did this is to fulfill a prophecy. Then Jesus said to them ‘ If the owner asks say the lord needs it.” The reason he did this is because Jesus is humble and he didn’t want to show off. So they did this. Then they went to Jerusalem. When they got there people started to shout “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord !!” And, “ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest and hosanna!!!!!!!!!!!!!” They would put their cloaks on the ground for him and would wave palm branches. The Jesus told them if only you knew what you would do to me. That is what happened on palm Sunday!!!!!

Here are the things I learned about Palm Sunday. I will start with the story. As Jesus and his disciples approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called Mount of Olives, he told them to go to the town ahead and find a colt that has not been ridden. So they did what Jesus told them to do. When Jesus came into Jerusalem every one said Hosanna. After Jesus started crying.
