Passion Week

We are at the begining of "Passion Week."
Tell me in detail about the days we have already discussed.

What were the people shouting as Jesus entered Jerusalem?
What did he say to the people in the temple?
What did he do on Tuesday and Wenesday? Why do you think what he did on those two days was so important?
Tell me in detail what happened on Thursday?
How would you have felt to be Judas?

Before Jesus came into the city he told one of his followers to go and find a donkey that was never been ridden and bring it to me and if anyone asks you why you are taking the donkey tell them the Lord needs it. And he did so. When he got in everyone was shouting hosanna, hosanna in the highest, bless it is he is that comes in the name of the Lord. But some said who is this? People were waving palm branches. Jesus went to the temple people were buying and selling stuff he put a end to that and told them that was wrong. The aforates wanted Jesus to die. A gie named Judas betrade him for 30 silver coins. Jesus celabrated the Passover he broke the bread and said this is my body then he toke the wine and said this is my blood. He also said one of you will betray me Judas felt sick. That is all I have time to tell you

We have been talking about the entry of Jesus and how he got mad at the people who were selling things from the temple. And when he was preaching at the temple and telling allot of people about it. And when they were doing the Passover with each other. And when the people saw him and they brought him to there people and give him as a sacrifice has for there people. And when they were splattering him and how he could do that much for us and how that's so nice of him. The people were shouting,” Hosanna in the Highest!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna to the son of David!” He said to the people of the temple that when they were eating bread he said,” For this is my body broken for you.” And when they were drinking the wine he said,” For this is my blood poured for you. On Tuesday he was preaching to them. Because maybe the people wouldn't know him that good and actually maybe everyone wouldn't know him if he didn't preach! On Thursday I think the people found him and they brought him to the sacrificing place. I would have felt bad if I was Judas because Jesus probably knew that it was him that wanted him and probably kill him and I would have felt bad because I would have been one of his disciples and I would think that I would get in trouble from Jesus because I would have got fired maybe. And I am glad that he died for me. I am very glad that he did that! You would be very lucky to have him around! I am very glad that he died for me! I would have been a chicken to do that! (I mean, I know that I would not want to do it.) And I would have been chicken to know that I have been trying to kill Jesus if I were Judas. I am very glad that Jesus did that for us and how he could do that!

Jesus enters Jerusalem and people shouted hosanna to the son of David, hosanna in the highest, and blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Jesus then went to the temple and saw people selling and buying. Jesus was furious and tipped over their tables. Monday through Thursday he taught the people lots of stuff like parables and life long lessons. On Thursday night he had the last supper with his disciples. He took the bread and said ,”take my body and eat. ”Then he took the wine and said ,”take my blood and drink.”Then he said one of you will betray me. Everybody said not I. But Jesus said it was Judas. If I were Judas I would feel very sad and sorry for what I did. Jesus also said to Peter that he would deny Jesus three times. And Peter did. That’s all I’ve learned so far. I want to learn more about it to and what happens next.

It is really cool to learn about Jesus and his last week on earth and what happened on those days. We have learned about Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. When Jesus entered Jerusalem people shouted Hosanna in the highest and blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord and Hosanna to the son of David. When Jesus was threw the crowd of people he went to the temple. When he got to the temple he saw people buying and selling things to sacrifice to God. Jesus said this is a house of prayer and worship but you have turned it to a den of robbers.
The next two days Jesus taught at the temple. I thought those were important days because Jesus said if you believe in me people will mock you hurt you and maybe even kill you if you stay strong in faith you will have eternal life in heaven. On Maundy Thursday Jesus had the last supper with his disciples. When they were all together Jesus broke the bread saying this is my body which is given up for you. Then he took the wine and said this is my blood of the new covenant. Jesus said one of you will betray me. Every disciple said surely not I lord. Judas the one who would betray him said not me and Jesus said yes it is you Judas. And Jesus said one of you will deny me three times before the roosters crows two times. Then Jesus said Peter you will betray me. That is all we have learned so far!

In school we have talked about 4 of the days of Passion Week. We have talked about The Triumphal Entry, the 2 days of teaching in the Temple, and the Last Supper.
Sunday: Sunday was the Triumphal Entry. This was when Jesus went into Jerusalem. When you heard it was the Triumphal Entry it was not that triumphal. Jesus entered riding on a colt that had never been ridden before. When he entered there was not trumpets sounding all over, their were people waving palm branches, laying their cloaks on the ground and shouting "Hosanna to the Son of David, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna to the king!" After Sunday we will go on to Monday…
Monday: On Monday Jesus went to the Temple. Jesus did not like what he saw at the temple their were people buying and selling animals that the people coming to sacrifice could buy. When Jesus saw this he became furious. He turned all of the tables upside down. He said to the people there, "My house is a house of prayer; you have turned it into a den of robbers." After Jesus was done cleansing the Temple he stayed their for Tuesday and Wednesday…
Tuesday, Wednesday: On Tuesday and Wednesday Jesus taught the people. On these days he taught the people many of the parables you here in Church or Sunday school like the Parable of the Talents. Jesus said to everyone that they should trust in him even if they are mocked or beaten. Jesus was going to show them this in a few days. After he was done teaching the people Jesus told his disciples to go and prepare for Thursday. Before Thursday Judas went to a man and betrayed Jesus saying to the man I will hand Jesus over to you if you pay me. So the man paid him thirty coins.
Thursday: On Thursday Jesus and his disciples had the Passover meal together. At the meal Jesus took bread and broke it saying this is my body broken for you. Then he took a glass of wine and said drink in remembrance or the blood I shed for you. After Jesus had done this he said, "One of you is going to betray me." All of the disciples said, Not I Lord. Even Judas said this. If I was Judas I would have been feeling pretty sick right now. But Jesus said, "Yes Judas it is you who will betray me."
This was what we have learned so far about Passion Week.

We have already talked about Sunday , Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Sunday he rode in on a donkey and all the people shouted “Hosanna in the highest and Hosanna to the son of David” and many other things. Then Jesus said , “ If only you knew what you are going to do to me!

On Monday he went to the temple and saw what all the people were doing. They were all buying and selling in the temple!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then Jesus said, “ You have turned house of prayer into a den of robbers!” Then he over turned the tables!

On Tuesday and Wednesday Jesus went back to the temple and he taut the people. He did examples for them these are called parables. The reason he did this is because he had teach the people all the things they needed to know before he died.

On Thursday Jesus had the Passover with his disciples. When they were drinking the wine Jesus said, “ This is my body broken for you do this in remembrance of me.” Then he took the bread and said, “This is my body broken for you.” Then he said, “ One of you will deny me 3 times before the roster crows the second time.” Peter did this!!!!!!! That is all we have learned about so far so when I find out the rest I will tell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PASSION WEEK
By Anna

I will tell you all the happenings of Passion Week. First, Jesus told some of the 12 to go get a donkey. Then he entered Jerusalem on that donkey. He was riding in when the people shouted, “Hosanna!” and “Hosanna is the highest!” and “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Jesus made that Triumphal Entry, as it says in the Bible. They threw their cloaks on the ground in front of Jesus so he could walk on them because he was so holy. Then Jesus wept and said, “If only you knew what you are going to do to me! It is what is hidden from you eyes.” (That was Sunday) Then, on Monday, he went to the temple and saw people buying and selling. He said, “This is my Father’s house of prayer! But you have made it into a ‘den of robbers’!” He crashed over all the tables they were using for the business and then they ran away. On Tuesday, he taught the people parables such as ‘The Prodigal Son’ and ‘The Parable of the Talents’.
On Wednesday, He had the last supper with the 12. He said to them, “One of you will betray me.” Everyone except Judas Iscariot said, “Surely, not I?” The Jesus looked at
Judas, and he said, “Surely, not I, Rabbi?” Jesus then said, “Yes, it is you.” Then Jesus went on with the supper. He broke the bread and then he told them, “This bread represents my body, which will be broken.” Then he told them to eat it. They did so. Then he took the wine and said, “This wine represents my blood. I will not drink fro the vine again until I am at my Father’s Kingdom.” These are very important. Remember the nights. They are really cool. But the last one we learned is NOT cool. Thursday night Judas agreed to betray Jesus the time before the Last Supper. He said to a man, “What will you give me if I hand over Jesus?” The man counted out 30 silver coins…… Can you believe Judas I. did that? (There are to Judas’ in the 12) In Mark, during the Last Supper, it says that Jesus tells Peter he will deny Jesus himself. But Peter said no, he would never fall for that. He would never do that to Jesus! He said others could fall for that, but not Peter!!!!! Then Jesus also told Peter that before the roster crowed twice, he would deny Jesus three whole times. The next day, Peter was walking around and people started asking him, “Are you a follower of Jesus?” Peter said no. Again, someone asked him, “Are you sure you are t a follower of Jesus?” Again Peter said no. They asked him once more, “You HAVE to be a follower! You are a Galilean!” Once more Peter said no. Then the rooster crowed for a second time. Peter remembered what Jesus had said last night. Then he realized what he had done, and he fell down and wept. I think all of those stories are great. Wait until you hear what happens next!!!!

On Monday we started talking about Passion Week. That was the week that Jesus taut all the people about life. He knew that this was His last week on earth. On Sunday he rode in on a colt that had never been ridden before. It was a very humble entry. All the people shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” Some people laid their cloaks on the ground but others took palm branches and laid them on the ground.

On Monday he went to the temple and said to all the people who were buying and selling, “This was built for a house of prayer but you have made it into a den of robbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” These people were so greedy that they sold stuff at the temple.

On Tuesday and Wednesday he taut the people what they needed to know because he knew that it was his last week on earth. He taut them a lot of parables to relate them to life.
On Thursday he ate with his disciples. This supper was called the Last Supper. He said to them, “This is my body eat this in remembrance of me. This is my blood of the covenant!”

As our class we’ve learned a lot about Passion Week. So I am going to tell you what I know about this week so far. First of all we learned that Jesus told someone to go get a colt that has never been ridden before because he is the King. Before they left Jesus said if anyone asks you what you are doing say,” The King needs it.” So he left to go get the colt. When he was there the owner asked,” What are you doing with my colt? He answered the King needs it. The owner said O.K. So he took the colt to Jesus.
We also learned that when Jesus was ridding into town all of the people where shouting also people where throwing the cloaks in front of him so the colt could walk on them. The people where shouting things like. Hosanna to the highest, Hosanna, and Hosanna to the son of David.
When Jesus first entered Jerusalem Jesus went to the Temple. When Jesus got to the Temple he saw that people where people buying and selling. When Jesus saw that he was very mad and through there tables and shouted this is my house the Temple we pray to God we don’t buy things and sell things. On Thursday was the Passover (Jesus’ last supper) Jesus said that someone would betray him. All of the disciples said not I lord but the Lord new who it was. The person who was going to do it even said not me Lord. Jesus answers yes it is you who is going to betray me. That’s what I learned so far I hope you learned what happened on Passion Week.

The first day we studied on Passion Week told about when Jesus was coming into Jerusalem. Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a baby donkey that no one had ever ridden before. While he came into Jerusalem the people were shouting Hosanna to the son of David, Hosanna in the highest, and Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. They also put palm on the road and waved them at him and they put their coats on the ground where he was riding. Then when he walked to the temple he saw that the people were buying, and selling, and trading money for animals. He got very mad and tipped the tables over and said to them, This is my house a house of prayer and you have made it into a den of robbers.” But on Tuesday and Wednesday all he did was preach and teach at the temple. He had preached because he had to teach them everything this was important because he was going to leave the earth and he had to teach them everything they had to know. Now we’re moving on to Thursday. On Thursday Jesus had the Passover meal with his disciples. While they were eating Jesus said, One of you is going to betray me tonight”. But everyone said, Not I Lord. But Jesus handed Judas the bread symbolizing that he was the one. Then Judas ran out of the room. But Jesus was right Judas had already promised that he would turn Jesus in for 30 silver coins. If I would have been Judas I would have been very scared and nervous because I had just lied to my Savior. So you see it’s never good to lie. But if you do you should just ask for forgiveness because Jesus will forgive you if you truly mean it.

A lot happened on Passion Week. Here is an outline on what happen on Jesus’ last week on this earth. When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a young colt everyone couldn’t contain their joy. They waved palm branches and shouted, “Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna to the son of David!” Then Jesus broke down on his knees and wept. “If only they knew what they were going to do to me.” He said sorrowfully. After Jesus had made his triumphant entry into Jerusalem on what we now call Palm Sunday on Monday he went to the temple. When he got there he was very angry. At the temple there was a lot of buying and selling going on. He tipped over the tables and said, “This is a house of prayer but you have made it into a den of robbers!” On Wednesday and Thursday Jesus taught at the temple and told parables. I think he did this because it was his last week on this earth and Jesus wanted them to know the importance of why he was here. On Thursday Jesus held a Passover feast with his disciples. Jesus broke the bread saying, “Take and eat. This is my body broken for you.” Then he took the wine and said, “This is my blood shed for you.” He took the cup and passed it around. Everyone drank. After that he said something surprising to the disciples. “One of you will betray me.” Everyone said, “Surely not I, Lord.” Even Judas said, “Surely not I, Rabbi.” I would feel bad being Judas.

When Jesus came into Jerusalem people were shouting Hosanna blessed is he. When Sunday was over and Monday came Jesus went to the temple and saw people buying and selling. Jesus was angry at the people because the temple was not for buying and selling it was for worshiping God. Jesus knocked down the tables and said this is the house of prayer why are you selling? On Tuesday and Wednesday Jesus went to the temple and was teaching the last few things that he would say before he died. Then on Thursday Jesus and his disciples had a Passover. Jesus took some bread and broke it into pieces saying take this and remember that this is my body. After that Jesus took wine and said this is my blood that I shed for you and he passed the wine around. In Matthew Jesus said someone has betray me. Everyone said not I Lord. Judas the one who has betrayed Jesus said surely not I Rabi. Then the Lord said yes, it is you. In Mark when they were at the Passover Jesus said that tomorrow someone will deny me three times before the rooster crows three times. That morning a girl asked Peter aren’t you one of those disciples that always walks with Jesus? Peter said no I don’t know what you’re talking about Three times then the rooster crowed three times. After that Peter knew it was him who denied Jesus. Peter wept and wept. If I were Judas I would take the money back and ask for forgiveness.

We are about to enter Passion Week so I’m going to tell you all about it. The first Day was the Triumphal entry. Jesus said to his disciples “Go to the next town write when you get there you will see a donkey bring it to me if anyone asks about it say the Lord needs it.” When Jesus road in to town the people lade out there robes and said “Hosanna to the son of David. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna to the Lord in highest.” The people also were waving palm branches. When Jesus entered the temple he said “This is a place for praying but you have turned it in to a den of robbers.” Then Jesus flipped a table. Jesus stayed in the temple for 2 more when he was there he told stories and parables to the people because he new that the people would need to no this for when he dies. After the Jesus was in the temple for 2 days he celebrated the Passover with the disciples he said that that on the disciples would deny him then he said Judas would do so he felt bad.

I will tell you all about Passion Week. On Sunday Jesus came into Jerusalem on a colt that no one has ridden. A large crowd put their cloaks on the ground and they waved palm branches and shouted “Hosanna” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord”. After Jesus rode in he started weeping because he knew what they were going to do to him. Then on Monday he whet to the temple and said, “This is a place of worship and you have made it a den of robbers.”

On Tuesday and Wednesday Jesus preached at the temple telling them parables. It was important because he wanted them to know everything. On Thursday Jesus and his dispels ate the Passover and told them that one of them was going to betray him it was Judas. After I think he felt bad about it well at least I would. See you soon.

Our class has learned a lot about this sort of thing. It all started when Jesus was going to Jerusalem He traveled on a donkey. He could have traveled on a chariot or the best horse they could find, but Jesus chose a donkey because He didn’t want to be like all the other kings, He wanted to be humble. There were huge crowds of people around them, they were all saying,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Hosanna in the highest!” and
“Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord!”
The people who didn’t know who Jesus was asked,” Who is this man?”
Later that day Jesus went to the temple to pray to God, but instead He saw people buying and selling, He tipped over the tables and said this is My Father’s house, this is a place for praying and worshiping God, you have turned it into a ‘den of robbers!’
On Tuesday and Wednesday Jesus went to the temple and preached to all the people there. I think what He did on those days was important because those were His last days to teach things on earth before He died on the cross.
On Thursday He said to His disciples to prepare the Passover at this certain place and He told Him what He would find along the way and what to say to the people He met. That night they had the Passover at a man’s house. They sang a hymn and Jesus broke the bread and gave thanks and said,” This is my body broken for you do this in remembrance of me.” Then He took the cup, gave thanks and said,” This is my blood given for you do this in remembrance of me.” Then He said,” Whoever dips his hand into the bowl when I do will betray me.” Then He said,” One of you will deny me three times before the rooster crows.”
I would have felt really bad to be Judas Iscariot especially when Jesus knew that you were going to do that and said it out loud to all the other disciples.

The people were shouting and saying "Hosanna to the Son of David," Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord;" "Hosanna in the highest. The people said this was Jesus the King. They spread their cloaks and had him ride on a donkey. Jesus cleared everyone out of the temple because they weren't worshiping God. They were selling sacrificial animals instead. "my house will be called a house of prayer. but you are making a den of robbers."On Tuesday and Wednesday the jews started to reject Christ. But Jesus talks about two commandments. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus taught all the disciples how to love and teach the gospel. We need to believe in Jesus till the end. Jesus and the disciples have their last supper. Jesus breaks the bread and says -take this -this is my body and this is my blood-drinking a glass of wine. They were preparing for his death. Nobody would want to be Judas. Judas was greedy for money and leadership. He saw when the lady anointed Jesus. She wasted it.
Judas new Jesus did this for spiritual reasons, not for political reasons. So that is why Judas betrayed him and in exchange for money and favors.

I think that was so importat because he had to teach what was going to happen to him.On Thursday he had the last supper and got betraed by Judas. If I were judas I would have felt bad.

I am going to tell you about passion week. Passion week is the week before Jesus died on the cross and all of the things that he did. When Jesus came in riding on a donkey that has never been ridden before all of the people shouted Hosanna, Hosanna to the son of David. that is just some of the things that they said. After that Jesus went to the temple and saw people buying and selling, so He said that they were not supposed to be buying and selling in the temple. On Tuesday and Wednesday Jesus taught people about him in or by the temple. I think what He taught on those two days was so important because more people would want to know what all of the pople were doing by him so they would come over and listen too. On Thursday Jesus went to pray with His desciples but then they all fell asleep so Jesus tried three times to make them wake up. If I were Judas and I knew that I was going to betray an innocent man I would have felt terrible. That is the story of passion week.
