What did you find?

I am going to post the pictures that I took of you guys dissecting your Owl Pellets- but in this blog, I would like for you to explain how your dissection went? What did the pellet look like when you got it, what did it feel like? smell like? How did you get inside of it? What did you find inside? What was the most exciting thing inside your pellet? What animal do you think that was inside of your pellet?
Did you have fun?!

When I got the owl pellet it looked like a small piece of poop. It felt like feathers. It smelled like nothing. We got inside of it by asking Miss T. to open it. We found a rodent in our owl pellet. We also found 1 scole and lots of bones( lots of ribs and leg bones)The most exciting thing was the insect the prey ate and the sckole. We think we found a rodent and a insect the rodent ate it looked like ladybug. I thought a mouse was in it or a frog. I was wrong.I had a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our pellet (Logan`s and mine)was around like a 1 in. shere all around. We found 7 rodent skulls and 1 bird skull and a bunch of verdabres, ribs, legs, feet, arms, and hands. It felt soft and somtimes hard. But first I ripped it all apart. We didn`t relly smell it. Probably the most exciting thing was finding each skull. We found like 7 rodents and 1 bird. AND I DEFFENTLY HAD FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looked like a small potato but green. It felt really hard. I did not really smell any thing at all. We had to break it open with our hands. We found tons of really small bones and skulls. That there could be so many bones and skulls inside. I think we have two rodents one big and one small. Yes, I had a great time dissecting the owl pellet.

My group was Zharayya, Kelci, and I. We all thought it was gross, but it was also very cool. The pellet was very light and odly shaped. It felt very furry and flaky. I did not smell it. I tore it where I thought were no bones. I did not crack it in two,but I put a little tear in it and grabbed bones. There were a lot of ribs in our pellet. We had a few skulls. We figured that we probably had a vole and a bird because one of the skulls was a vole skull (we think)and we found a worm in our pellet amd birds eat worms. The most exciting part was to know that God created Owls so unique. The other exciting part is that we found a worm which is pretty cool. I had so much fun dissecting owl pellets.

Our dissection went great because we had so muchstuff that we learned and saw. It looked like a pebble but it was just a little bigger than a pebble. It felt like fur from another wild animal insted of being owl's regergutation. The smell was ok ot defenatley smelled like it came from the wilderness. We got inside of it by braking it apart and useing twesers. We found some bones and we found this one little, little insect. The most exciting thing was finding two skulles of a rodent and finding almost every bone to the rodent as we could in our pellet. The animal that was close to what we thiught was a rodent. I had a lot of fun because we had almost every bone but the pelves.

Owl pellet's were fun to study and learn about.I was partners with Seth and we did very good team work.It would be like I wuold do one side of the pellet and he would do the other. Our pellet looked like a oval shaped. It smelled like fur and mouse kind of smell. Our teacher Miss Teslaa broke it in half for us.We found bones, fur, and hair. That we could try to get bones out without breaking them even though i broke some.I think we had a rat a mouse or a shrole something like that.I had alot of FUN i want to do it again.Go OWLS!!!!!They ROCK!

For the dissection of the owl pellets I was with Brandon. We found a rodent that looked just like the diagram. We got three owl pellets. One did not open. Another was roten. And the last was as good as new. The one that we used felt all furry. We did not really smell it but I'm sure it did not smell bad or good. To get inside of an owl pellet, you have to feel where you think there won't be any bones(because the bones are very fragile). Then you carefully tear it apart. Finnally you have to look for the right bones. The bones are very small so you need twesers to grab them, and you need to look very carefully to get them.

The most exiting thing I found in the pellet was the skull. The skull is no bigger than my thumb, and it was really hard to get out. This was very fun to do because we got to look for the bones andwe got to put the body back together.

I disection went really good. When we got our pellet it was kind of shaped like a round long and pushed in egg it also did not smell so good either and really did smell like a persons real throw up. It actually felt really soft and furry but at the same time groose and hard. It was really easy to get inside of it becouse you had to do was break it open. When we broke it open we found teeny little bones about the size of a i on the computar and some bones about the size of your thumb.I have got to say the coolest and most exciting thing that was in the owle pellet was finding the 4 skulls in the pellet. The animal that i thought that was in my pellet was either a rodent our a mole but when i looked at it really close i saw that it was really a rat or a mouse.I really did have a blast at doing it.

My owl disection went very good i had fun. It was fun looking at the bones that were inside the pellet.

The pellet looked like a turd it was weird. it felt rough and there was some grass and dirt in and on it. It smelt like dirt and stuff mixed together.

We got inside of it bye breaking it carefuelly so we didn't breake any bones inside. We found bones and three skulls. the most exciting thing Tannen and I found was the skulls they are the thing you use to idenify witch kind of animal.

We think we found a rodent the skull and teeth look coooool It was fun disecting the Owl pellet!!!!!!!!

The owl pellet that Mason and I got looked like a really hard peice
of dirt. The owl pellet felt really
hard, and like a stick of some sort.It smelled like dog leftovers,
and dog food!We got inside the owl pellet by gently breaking the outer side of the owl pellet.(You had to be very careful when you break the owl pellet in half.Mason and I found many cool things such as undigested particals that the owl regurgitated, the coolest thing we found was two skulls right over another.(One of the animals skull was a moles, the other was a rodent). The other skull was a birds skull. The only one that had a full body so far we think is the mole's body.I had a great time disecting owl pellets!

I was with Connor in my disecting of the owl pellet. It went really well but we had a tough time getting it open which made us think it was an old one. The owl pellet was long, but not wide. It was about as long as my index finger(about 2 in. long). It felt really rough. It had some of the bones sticking out of it(but you couldn't tell). We found out that one of the bones sticking out of it was part of the jaw. It smelt horrible. I can't say exactly what it smelt like but I can tell you that it smelt bad, really bad. Connor and I got inside when Miss TeSlaa opened it for us(like I said earlier it was hard as a rock, well maybe not wuite that hard).
What we found inside was unbelievable. There was fur, bones, and all sorts of things. The first bone we found was the femur(I think). Right away when we opened it we had that bone sticking out of the pellet. It was later on when we found the skull(s). Connor found the first one and the biggest one. It was about the size of your finger print. We were the last group to find the skull but we found more than a lot of groups. We ended out finding abou 6 to 7 skulls in total. We think that most of them are mice and one of them might be a shrew or a mole.
Connor and I had the best time together. We found so many bones and hair(so we know it's not a bird) and we thought it was so cool. I'm glad that we don't do that other wise we would miss school everyday. IT WAS THE BEST!!!

My dissection went pretty well. It was kind of weired to touch actual bones from an animal so I kind of was sared to touch it; a little bit. But it takes some time to get used to it.

My pellet was very big! We even found about 6 skulls! The color of it was grey with a bit of blue. I could not believe the size of it. It was huge! It felt like some one shaved my cat, Raven. She is super fluffy. But that's a different story. What was I saying? Oh yes the feeling. It also felt like some one threw up a black hair ball with dirt.

Most of all it smelled horrable!!!!!!! It smelled like dirt with dirty animal fur.

We used tweesers to get inside. It was grose.

We found all kinds of bones inside. We even found almost 50 ribs!

The most exciting thing was all those bones. I have that much bones in my life!

I think we had a vole in our pellet. I have so much fun!

Our dicection went great!
We found a rodent or a shrew scull the bigest I've ever seen!
It was about three, four or five CM long and three CM tall it was litrely almost like the size of the pellt.
The pellet looked and felt like hair.
It smelt kinda like poop.
We tore apart the hair with twezers.
We found bones inside the pellet.
The most exciting thing was finding the head.
I think it was a Shrew or Rodent.
I had tons of fun!!

Our dissection was really cool. We found amazing things and it wasn't as gross as I thought it was going to be at all. We were surprised on how it looked when we opened it. Right away when we opened our pellet we saw a skull. I personally didn't smell anything. We used our tweezers to get in our pellet. We kind of pulled into pieces then looked for the bones. We found a lot of vertabras, 3 skulls, 4 tibias, and a lot more. The most exciting thing was when we found our 1st skull right away. We think our owl ate a rodent of some sort. I had a lot of fun.

To me, the disection went well and we found some very interesting things that fascanated me in so many ways.My partner was Sam. when we got back from lunch we had something wrapped in tin foil that was about 1 1/2 inches wide and about 1 inch thick. Miss TeSlaa told us to carefully unwrap the foil the break it in half very gently. At first Sam and I didn't even want to touch it when we unwrapped it. So I unwrapped it very reluctantly andwhen we saw what it looked like I was just grossed out. The outside was kind of hard and had little tiny bones sticking out of it and it was black. We tried to break it but we were afraid we were gonna break to many bones. So we asked Miss TeSlaa if she could do it for us. She did and the first thing we saw was a skull. We got so excited and we tried to get it out. Then we realized that it was harder than it looked because all the fur was packed up pretty tight. I thought it was going to be more of a dusty thing but it was more of fur adn stuff like that.
The pellet felt furry and it was kind of soft. The bones were very fragile and we accidenally broke some of them trying to pull them out of the pellet.
I smelled pretty bad and gross. I t was kind of disturbing. Speaking of my nose, whenever I breathed on it when I was disecting, it would blow away because it was so light a furry.
Like I said before, we got inside by breaking it in two and finding the bones with a tweasers.
We found a lot of stuff in the pellet. We found 3 skulls, like 20 vertibres, 6 jaws, lots of teeth, some small bones that we are not quite sure about yet, and more.
The most exciting thing I found in my pellet was we had an entire skull that had nothing broken off of it and it was pretty cool.
I think it is a rat inside my pellet.
I had a lot of fun and learned many new things about what owls eat.

My dissection of an owl pellet was oquard in a way,the way that it is oquard is how our skull wasn't normal size .The skull was a rodents skull .When I got the pellet it was the size of a bouncy ball.It was brown and it was harry like fur, to tell you the truth I thought it was a curled up mouse. It smelt like a forest mixed with tin foil, and also the inside of a mouth. To get inside of the pellet we had to take all the bones of the outside then we started peeling hair of until we hit bones.I found a skull on my first try iside and it took like 100 pulls of hair to see the skull and 50 more pulls to see the inside. The coolist thing we found in our pellit was the foot, because it was the first leg we found, and it was the only leg we found.I thought iit was a rodent, but I could be rong.I had an amazing time doing it!
