Hi this is Spencer reporting for duty. This week we learned about Merriweather Lewis & William Clark and their journey around the Louisiana purchase. In this area they saw many animals, I will name some for you.They saw Grizzly bears,Elk,Pronghorn antelope,cougars, and many other animals.
They saw a Grizzly Bear. They spelled both words wrong. They saw American Bison. They also saw stuff like Prarie Dogs, Pronghorn Antalope, and cyotes. No Americans had ever seen these animals.
Where learning about Lewis and Clark they saw a bunch of amazing animals they saw the American Bison the mountian lion and a lot of other cool animals. I love learning about Lewis and Clark.
Did you know that Louise and Clark
first named the cyote praire dog.
They also found it in South Dakota.
They also found what is now the called the praire dog in Nebraska.
Lewis and Clark descovered 15 animals. One is the Grizzly Bear. Another is the Prairie Dog. How do you think Lewis and Clark came up with all of those names? Another is the American Bison. I like the Cyote and the Weastern Meadalark.
Luwis and Clark saw a lot of animals they even saw a grizzly bear. They also discovered the prairi Dog. The most interesting thing that i thought they saw was the mountain goat becouse it climbs mountains.Luwis and Clark also saw a lot of birds like the parit.I still think how scared i woould be if i actualy saw a Grizzly Bear.I would probibly try to find a near by cave ore a big rock to hide behind. Thats what kind of animals they saw.
Lewis and Clark found many different animals on their expedition it is cool that they saw bears in SOUTH DAKOTA on their journey, because bears don't live here any more. They also saw Elk witch is a big animal and Bison they saw other animals and plants. They had a awesome adventure!!!
My favorite animal was the grisly bear. I also liked the eagle, wolverine, wolf, and the mountain lion. My favorite part about the grisly bear is that it can graw so big. My favorite part about the eagle is that it is it's eye site. My favorite part about the wolverine is that it looks like a racoon. My favorite part about the wolf is that it has good cameflage. My favorite part about the moutain lion is it's climing abilaty. The End
Lewis and Clark first discovered the Pronghor antelope. they called a brown eagle a golden eagle. Bison and Elk were a good source of food for Lewis and Clark. It took ten shots to kill a Grizzly Bear.
The grizzly bear they discoverd when they were on a sand bar they shot it and it wayed 500 pounds. They found elk and killed and ate them on the culumbia river. They also found wolverine. They also found prairy dogs they named the prairy dogs prairy dogs because they bark like dogs. They also found buffalo. Thhey used almost all the parts. I got 10 right!!!
Lewis and Clark saw many different animals on their journey. One that I thought was very interesting was the grizzly bear. Also what I thought was awesome was the moutain lion and the golden eaagle.The fourth thing Ithought was really really interesting was the beaver becaule they are so hard to see.
I think four cool animals Lewis and Clark saw were the Grizzly bear,Coyote,Mountain lion, and the American Bison!Lewis and Clark ate and hunted for the bison.Lewis and Clark refered to the Coyote as the "Prairie Dog".Lewis and Clark first saw a mountain lion devouring a deer.Lewis and Clark first saw a Grizzly bear on a sand beach , they killed it. Lewis and Clark rock!
In school we are learning about Lewis and Clark.On their expedidition they discovered many animals. they discovered the Mountain Lion, the Prarie Dog, the American Bison, and the Coyote. Those weren't the only animals they found. They found many more.
I took a Lewis and Clark REading Comprehension test and i got 5/10 right. Learning about Lewis and Clark is a lot of fun!
One of the animals are the praire dogs. They called the praire dogs 'little toy dogs'. Another animal is the coyote. They called it the 'praire wolf'. The next animal is the badger. They say that the badger resembles the beaver and it does. The last animal is the western meadowlark. The western meadowlark much resmbles the yellow breast. The are very interesting.
The first animal that Lewis and Clark disovered that I'm going to tell you is a bird called the Western Tanager it was first discover in June 6, 1806 in Idaho County, Idaho. I would think this bird is known for is beutiful colors because its wings are black its chest, back and half of its head is yellow and the other half of the head is red and its beak is gray. These birds are also commonly found in western part of the united states. This bird is also about 7 inches long and it eats insects and fruits. The second animal I'm going to tell you about is the badger the badger was found on Febuary 6, 1804 at Camp Dubois Lewis called the badger the barking dog of the prarie. The badger is commonly found in grassland or prarie habitats. The badger is also known for digging and it lays about 1-5 eggs and is apart of the Mustelidae whicch also incudes ferrets,weasels, and wolverines it grows up to around 20-30 inches and 15 to 25 pounds. The third animal I'm going to tell you about is the Elk the elk was first discovered in December 2, 1805 at the mouth of the Columbia River. The elk ways about 1,000 pounds and lookes simuliar to the moose. elk are commonly found in the Rocky Mountains and forests of Canada and the USA. Elk normally eat a larrge amount of gress, leaves, and other vegitation the elk are also affected when forests for farmland are cut down. The fourth animal I'm going to tell you about the Mountain Lion the mountain lion was first discovered on May 16, 1805 the mountain lion is sometimes called the puma or Cougar. The mountain lion usally eats deer, wapiti (elk), mountain goats, bighorn sheep, hares and even rodents. They can also weigh up to 150 pounds and there tail 8 feet long! Mountain Lions are commonly found in California. Mountain Lions are usally solitary and nocturnal. And that's my four intresting animals.
